Providence Health & Services Activity Aide in Mount Angel, Oregon
Providence is calling an Activity Aide (0.94 FTE, Variable/Rotating) to Providence Benedictine Nursing Center in Mount Angel, OR.
This positions is a variable schedule and requires flexibility to work some evening hours and, on average, 2 weekend days each month. This is a full time, benefits eligible position.

We are seeking for an Activity Aide Who will assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator plan, organize, direct, and participate in a broad spectrum of program recreation services. Assist with overall scheduling and coordinating of activities for the assisted living facility.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Conduct exercise session for participants. Encourage participation for all.
Do individual and group activities with participants, according to interests and needs.
Be familiar with appropriate activities, supplies, and where they are kept.
Take appropriate participants for walks.
Report observations of status to appropriate team member and documents in the R&N.
Provide self help, sensory stimulation, communication, adapted physical recreation and social interactions.
Monitor, cleanses, and maintains equipment, recreation spaces, department office, department supplies needed for the recreation program.
Organize and prioritizes work appropriately and with minimal supervision, offering and seeking assistance as needed.
Communicate in a professional manner with families, directing questions or concerns to the appropriate team member.
Communicate in conflict or stressful situations in a manner that facilitates constructive problem resolution.
Participate in work meetings, planning and daily check-ins as a team member.
Required qualification for this position includes:
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year experience working with a frail, elderly population, -or- Successful completion of a Providence internship.
Activity Certification completed within 6 months.
Ability to lead group activities.
Proven ability to provide a wide variety of appropriate activities and entertainment that will peak the interest of a variety of personalities and cognitive levels.
In Compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), finger printing and criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties.
