Providence is calling an Intake Assistant - Home Health Services (1.0 FTE, Days) to Benedictine Nursing Center in Mount Angel, OR
We are seeking an Intake Assistant - Home Health Services that will support Providence Benedictine Home Health Clinical Intake and Patient Scheduling through several support functions. The functions include: processing faxed patient referral information, making phone contact with patients and their families, coordinating with and supporting the intake team, performing data entry of referral/intake information into computer systems. The Intake Assistant positively represents Home Health to customers and effectively promotes Home Health services to ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Process Home Health referrals via Rite Fax within established guidelines
Problem-solve incorrect and/or missing information on incoming referrals and independently obtains necessary information
Contact patients to verify service need and referral information
Record referral information accurately, timely and completely
Properly route the referral to Intake Team for processing
Assist with faxing, distributing all received faxes, and other support functions to ensure strong referral access for Home Health customers
Manage the electronic referral system
Prepare specific reports as directed for distribution within Home Health and other entities
Maintain current knowledge of Home Health services and other referral sources
Regularly attens and participate in office staff meetings and education sessions
Attend other meetings and education classes as requested by the Supervisor, Manager, or Director
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma or GED
Coursework/Training: Educational course work in medical terminology -OR- equivalent educ/experience
One (1) year work experience in a medical office setting
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Experience doing insurance verification/authorization
Experience doing medical coding/ICD-9 or ICD-10
