Providence Health & Services Teacher (Children Ages 5-12) in Mount Angel, Oregon
Providence is calling a Teacher to its Providence Benedictine, Mt Angel Child Development Center in Mount Angel, OR. This is a full-time position, offering a varying schedule (8 hour shifts per day) Monday-Friday. The earliest shift start time is 6:15am, and latest shift end time is 6pm. Hourly base pay starts at $12.75 per hour, and increases depending on experience up to $16.12 per hour.
We are seeking a Teacher who will work as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment to enhance a child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development as part of our Child Development Center. The Teacher is responsible for organizing and planning a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Providence Benedictine Mt. Angel Child Development Center has the capacity to care for 40 children from infant to 12 years of age. In this role, you will care for 15 children ages 5-12 years. You will provide aide as the children complete online school work, and will also create all school age programs (generate other activities for before or after the online learning is completed).

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for a designated group of children, including feeding and changing of diapers/clothing
Provide a clean, orderly, and stimulating physical environment
Relate to children in a positive and nurturing manner
Display and supervise techniques for volunteers
Develop written, developmentally appropriate, weekly lesson plans that address the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth of the individuals being taught
Maintain developmental and anecdotal records of individual children in care
Communicate with parents both written and verbally regarding the care and development of the child
Provide written daily and/or weekly communication to families as established for the different age groups
Hold conferences with parents at least annually and as requested or as appropriate
Maintain high quality child development program through an on-going process of professional development including child development (infant to school age) as required by the Office of Child Care
Develop individual objectives annually and works with the CDC Director to monitor progress toward those goals
Obtain and document ongoing training as required by the Office of Child Care
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Two (2) years of college level training in Early Childhood Education, and/or Child Development, or a CDA -OR- One (1) year of qualifying work experience in a related field (comparable setting/age groups) will be accepted in lieu of the training.
Currently enrolled in Central Background Check through the Office of Child Care before date of hire
No convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons, sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances, or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions of duties of an employee of a child care facility
In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check is required for this position
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with one (1) year of direct childcare/teaching experience with children ages six (6) weeks to twelve (12) years old
Practicum experience is acceptable experience -OR-
Oregon Registry Step 8
Bilingual in Spanish
