Providence Health & Services Desktop Support Technician 2 in Salem, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Desktop Support Technician 2 to our location in Salem, OR. This role is remote. On site work required as needed. Qualified candidates must be able to travel to the office location in Salem, OR within 30 minutes, as needed.
We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician 2 to provide desktop user support to help diagnose user problems; coordinate solutions; Track and report problems. They will also train on use of installed technologies; make recommendations and order hardware & software. Provide on-call support; conduct business analysis/research; evaluate and recommend options as well as negotiate with vendors and internal partners.
The IS organization is structured to provide IS operations, information technology, application development and support, data administration and data base, testing and quality assurance, help desk and project management services to the Health Plan.
Working in a rapidly changing environment.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provides advanced level support for mission critical systems, applications, and/or projects.
Participates in the development of IS communication planning as part of user department downtime procedures.
Possesses a good working knowledge of the business operation and associated departmental use of installed automated information systems.
Prepares a comprehensive cost/benefit analysis.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree i n related specialty or Associate's Degree and 2 years of customer support desk, network, microcomputer, or telecommunications support and/or project management experience -OR- 4 years of customer support desk, network, microcomputer, or telecommunications support and/or project management experience.
- MCP certification in appropriate technologies desirable.
